Our Story

Red House was born from a place of deep obedience. In 2017, Marcus and Andrea Smith returned from their mission work in Thailand and settled in Cookeville to be near family. Marcus began working for the post office, and Andrea took up a role as a nanny. In 2018, they began daily prayer sessions with their children. Soon after, they moved their prayer gathering to a room in a local church and opened it up to others. Their vision was to create a space for continuous prayer, where people could come and experience the beauty and wonder of Jesus.

Through a series of miraculous events, they acquired a building on East Spring Street, where they relocated their prayer and worship gathering, naming it Restoration House. This prayer room was open to anyone seeking a quiet place to connect with God. For a year, it flourished in this space, which is now home to Red House. After a year, the prayer room was moved to the back of the building, and Marcus and Andrea felt led by God to open a coffee shop- a place where everyone would feel welcome, enjoy excellent coffee, and experience exceptional customer service. But more importantly, it would be a place where the love and peace of Jesus could be felt.

Despite having no prior experience in the coffee business, they learned and grew rapidly. Three years later, Red House has become a hidden gem in Cookeville, steadily gaining recognition. Next door to the coffee shop is Heart Garden, our inner healing ministry, where individuals can find freedom from trauma, wounds, lies, and generational issues.

We invite you to visit Red House and experience the peace and atmosphere that we've cultivated. R.E.D. stands for Restoration, Equipping, and Discipleship- all of which happen on our campus. Join us for worship and prayer on Monday nights at 6:30pm at Restoration House, or learn more about Heart Garden at heargardenministries.org. Our entire campus is dedicated to Jesus, community, and helping people become who God created them to be. He deserves all our love and devotion. If you would like to contribute to our organization that is sustained by generous donations, you can give at rhopc.org. Thank you for your support!
